Well Made

Now here's an example of how to do a zombie film that's connected to Romero's mythology and world of the living dead, but without slavishly remaking one of Romero's films. I enjoyed the notion that the creators of this film placed the events of their movie in a different part of the country. It was also a nice touch to add Barbara and Johnny's sister, which provides a connection to Night of the Living Dead. Now this film will never be on the same level as Night of the Living Dead. It simply isn't that polished. The acting is rough in a few spots, but that's too be expected in a very low budget film. There are also some shaky moments in the special effects, but that, again, is to be expected in such a low budget production. I did, however, enjoy this movie and thought it had a good pace as the action and zombie attacks come fast and furious. It may not be perfect, but it is worth watching. I give Dusk of the Living Dead 7 out of 10.
