Story:
Ten years have passed since the famous 1968 outbreak and although the zombie threat has hardly subsided, there are safe places for humanity--the normal zones. Disco rules the day. President Carter assigns Kennie Porter to set up a new safe zone for some humans. He rescues a millionaire, but a rival zombie hunter threatens to screw everything up. Soon enough the zombies are running amuck again. Can Kennie save the day? Or are they all doomed due to a pissing contest over who the best zombie killer is?

Fun Movie

Welcome back to Joel Trujillo. He's been gone from the zombie movie making business for far too long. We all missed you. The latest entry in Trujillo's canon makes fun of all things 1970s. Joel manages to capture the sillines of that era with such things as Kennie wearing an awful plaid polyester suit. He has a hideously bad hairdo. There's a couple of retro cars put in here for good measure. The story is actually pretty funny. I loved the reports on Dawn of the Dead and what may have happened to the characters. The trashing of President Jimmy Carter was quite a hoot as well. The music in here was really good. Disco of the Dead is a fun, nostalgic ride. I am looking forward to Trujillo turning his attention to the 1980s with Retro of the Dead. Meanwhile, Disco of the Dead ends up with a rating of 6 out of 10.
