A True Rarity

Now, here's something you don't see too often, a 1980s horror anthology that has completely fallen off the map. I read about Southern Shockers several months ago. It's so rare that the only copies ever released were in Spain under the title El Espiritu Del Zombie. And it was even dubbed into Spanish, so the plot isn't easy to follow at all. Still, it was pretty amusing. This anthology falls more into the so bad it's good category. The dubbing was truly awful. The demon make-up was pretty bad as well. But the zombie make-up was really done. The lighting could have much better as well. Of course, that could also be due to a less-than-stellar VHS transfer. Still it was cool to get this rarity and be able to watch it. I give Southern Shockers a rating of 6 out of 10.
