”40 Years Have Gone By And The Dead Still Walk The Earth!“

Story:
40 years after the legendary outbreak of 1968, humanity has pulled together under one world leader who has introduced a bracelet that can tell if a person is living or dead or even about to die. Naturally, this device could be very helpful or it could be used for sinister purposes. The bracelet is not a voluntary thing either. Kennie heads a team of zombie hunters who actually have an intelligent zombie working for them thanks to a formula developed by this living dead scientist. However, Kennie finds himself hunted by the very government he worked for when he is bitten by a zombie.

Some Advice

This film is a combination of good and bad elements. The actors turn in, by and large, good performances. Granted, these aren't Hollywood actors, but at least they show some range of emotions, which is mor than can be said of many low-to-zero budget movies I've seen. The make-up could use some work in here as the normal fleshtones can be seen on many of the zombies. The laser effects are pretty good as well. However, there are also some lessons for aspiring filmmakers as well in here. First, it's going to be hard to get distribution for your film if you make extensive use of copyrighted music. There are a lot of familiar rock songs in here, and I can guarantee you that the director and company did not have enough of a budget to get permission to use those songs. Zero budget films might fly under the radar, but I don't wnat to know how much it would cost for a lawsuit. Another piece of advice, don't use copyrighted characters. One of the characters in here is The Crow from the comic book series and movies. THe actor who plays him is credited as "The Crow." There's another lawsuit waiting to happen. Now, on the good side of things, this is a film that attempts to be original and not just another remake of NOTLD. It is set in the Romeroverse, but expands the possibilities of that universe, which, despite the low budget, is very nice to see. And and it's too bad that when someone says "Oh my god, they killed Kennie," no one said "You Bastard . . ." This film gets 6 out of 10.
